Anti-European-American, racist comments have been enshrined in a monument erected with taxpayer money in Baldwin Park, California. The phrases,

This land was Mexican once, was Indian always and is, and will be again.

- and -

It was better before they came.
are emblazoned on the monument which was built in 1993 with $56,000 donated by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. The monument has come under the spotlight as the group SaveOurState.org has organized protests calling for,

the city of Baldwin Park to voluntarily remove these offensive passages by Friday, July 1st, in advance of the American Independence weekend. … the monument promotes the radical and militant belief in the “reconquista of Aztlan.”

SaveOurState.org’s website states,

Californians are tired of radical revisionist history and militant separatist rhetoric calling for the return of the Southwestern United States to Mexico as proclaimed by radical organizations like Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan (MEChA). SaveOurState.org proudly stands in opposition to this propaganda.

Californians are tired of watching their communities turn into Third World cesspools as a result of a massive invasion of illegal aliens.

While I am not thrilled with SaveOurState.org’s choice of words, I am in agreement with their request that the monument be removed. This memorial to racism is situated on public land and was taxpayer funded. Imagine the outcry if a monument to Hitler was built in say New York City or Chicago.

The implication of the phrases at Baldwin Park are not just xenophobic, but imply violence and ethnic cleansing against European-Americans (“This land was Mexican once, was Indian always and is, and will be again.”)

Once again, the politically correct left-wing has decided that two wrongs do make a right. The monument’s supporters believe that because evils were once perpetrated against “indigenous” peoples – the conquest of Indian and Mexican territories by Europeans 100 to 500 years ago – these same wrongs are now justified against those “whites” who now live in the U.S.

Think about it: the “liberals” who are always reminding us about Hitler and the Nazis, and who claim the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. and Gandhi, are the same people now advocating violence and ethnic cleansing.

The do-gooders now proudly march carrying signs that say, “I love New York even more without the World Trade Center” and “Smash the Jewish state!” In their twisted thinking, they label anyone who questions their logic “fascists” while simultaneously calling for another genocide against Jews – and Europeans, Iraqi democrats, etc. And many of these same liberals are of European descent. So are they calling for their own eradication? I doubt they have the guts to really consider their own thinking.

What defines “indigenous” in a country made up of immigrants? Human history is rife with accounts of movements of peoples from one region to another, sometimes peacefully and other times with violence. In a sense, all peoples are immigrants, or their ancestors were. “Native” Americans were once Asian peoples who crossed the land-bridge over the Bering Straits. They immigrated to the Americas.

The history of early Americans is no bed of roses either. The Aztecs, who once ruled over “Aztlan,” were overthrown by Hernan Cortez, a Spaniard. But Cortez was only able to achieve his conquest with the help of thousands of other Mexican peoples -- tired of getting their beating hearts get cut out by Aztec priests. The great Anasazi society of Arizona and New Mexico collapsed into violent mayhem and cannibalism. Mayan civilization in the Yucatan and Guatemala went up in flames (literally) as the ruling class of its city states were constantly warring. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

I grew up in Ohio. Am I not indigenous? My parents were not slave owners or conquerors, so what am I guilty of? And if my ancestors were slave owners or conquerors, would that make me guilty automatically?

While the “liberals” drive around in the SUV’s, enjoying America’s bounty and freedoms, they loathe what our Declaration of Independence so eloquently states,

WE hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

I can only ask the liberals, Are you and your “indigenous” friends the only people worthy of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness? – and to hell with the rest of us? Are some people more equal than others because of past grievances?

Here’s an excerpt from the last chapter of George Orwell’s Animal Farm. It sums up the liberal belief system. Keep in mind that it was Orwell’s pigs who led the “rebellion” and that all the animals had originally agreed to “seven commandments” – a set of egalitarian rules governing their lives.

YEARS passed. The seasons came and went, the short animal lives fled by. A time came when there was no one who remembered the old days before the Rebellion, except Clover, Benjamin, Moses the raven, and a number of the pigs. …

"My sight is failing," she said finally. "Even when I was young I could not have read what was written there. But it appears to me that that wall looks different. Are the Seven Commandments the same as they used to be, Benjamin?"

For once Benjamin consented to break his rule, and he read out to her what was written on the wall. There was nothing there now except a single Commandment. It ran:

ALL ANIMALS ARE EQUAL BUT SOME ANIMALS ARE MORE EQUAL THAN OTHERS

After that it did not seem strange when next day the pigs who were supervising the work of the farm all carried whips in their trotters. …

No question, now, what had happened to the faces of the pigs. The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.
