Another Arafat Bites the Dust

On October 12, 2004, certain Palestinian terrorists tried to assassinate Moussa Arafat. At that time, the dictator Yasser Arafat had appointed Moussa as head of intelligence in Gaza. Some Palestinians had violently protested this blatant nepotism. Well, today, someone succeeded in killing Moussa:

The cousin of the late leader Yasser Arafat is the most senior figure to be killed in internal violence that has gripped the Palestinian territories.

The attack has been claimed by a militant splinter group, the Popular Resistance Committees.

Does today’s attack presage a long-awaited (and necessary) civil war amongst Palestinians? No. This is just typical infighting. I fear it will be a long time until Palestinians opposed to terrorism clean up the terrorists who still roam so freely in the West Bank and Gaza.
