Blame Israel: What you sow, so shall you reap

How does the terrorist group Hamas celebrate? It fills a truck with homemade explosives and armed men, and then drives that truck through dense crowds of Palestinian civilians. When the truck explodes, killing 15 children, women, and men, what does Hamas do? Does it take responsibility for its macabre “parade?” No. It blames Israel and fires rockets at Israeli civilians. This time around, Hamas’ murderous activities and wild accusations have been exposed by its own people. According to the BBC, Shrapnel found in the bodies of people killed in last week's blast in northern Gaza came from Hamas' homemade rockets, the Palestinian Authority has said. By disengaging from Gaza, Israel has proven its good faith. It has given the “world community” precisely what it has been demanding for 38 years: a withdrawal from Gaza and the West Bank. Israel’s withdrawal was peaceful and governed by the rule of democratic law. Conversely, the Palestinian reaction has been an orgy of chaos. During Israel’s withdrawal, Palestinian terrorists assassinated one of their own, Moussa Arafat, the former head of intelligence in Gaza. Immediately after Israel’s withdrawal from Gaza, Palestinian mobs poured into the remnants of Jewish settlements, rioting and looting, and torching a synagogue. Now, Hamas is parading its terrorist weapons and blowing up its own followers. Certainly Palestinians deserve self-determination, as do all peoples. But they have much to learn about freedom, and are now squandering their new-found “liberty,” if one can call it that. Instead of working towards an independent state, Palestinians have spent the last hundred years teaching their children to hate Jews, building weapons to kill Jews, and using those weapons to kill Jews. They have not built social institutions or a vibrant economy. Witness now how that hatred is bearing fruit in Gaza. What you sow, so shall you reap. |
