Hundreds of Black African children have starved to death in Sudan as a result of attacks by Arab militias. These armed groups, backed by Sudan’s government, are attempting to ethnically cleanse the western Sudanese province of Darfur of Black Christians and indigenous believers. Despite the atrocities being carried out by Arabs -- the burning of villages, the massacres, the raping, the forced relocations -- the United Nations has failed to take action. The UN Human Rights Commission “expressed solidarity” with the Sudan in April. The U.S. has pushed the UN to levy a hard-hitting resolution condemning Sudan, but its efforts have been stifled.

The BBC reports that the situation in Sudan “is undoubtedly the largest humanitarian crisis in the world.” Sudan is preventing aid from reaching refugees. One aid worker estimates that 300,000 people will starve to death even if supplies reach refugees immediately, and 1 million would die if not. How could it get any worse?:

The mother of nine-month-old Adam says that she walked without food for 10 days to reach the camp.

"The militias burnt our village... They were burning the children," she said.

Our correspondent says village after village in Darfur has been burnt, while food is running out in all the camps, where people have sought refuge.
